We would like to state our stand as a true Christian that this particular action by a construction company to discriminate women who wears hijab is not permissible in our country. In this majority Muslim country, we must attend to what is important to improve the sense of unity and pride in our country.
However, the act of this particular construction company is by far one of the worst act of racial hatred we have seen so far. This is also the same as the PTA of Nan Yang Chinese Primary School who insist that the Chinese Muslim teacher must take of her hijab before she can teach.
We condemn these act of racism and ask that our Christian brothers and sisters out there to respect our Muslim friends. We are not at war with them, even though sometimes we are butting heads with the government.
We must pressure all the Federal and State government to promote unity and peace among Malaysians. We also must educate Malaysians that we are one and racism cannot exist in our country.
Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures, religion and ideologies, to attack a person based on their rights of individuality is wrong. We asked that the singer Marinatasha Isnariah Mustapha would forgive those who transgress against her, and we pray that the CASTMET building company would throw away their racist perception towards Muslim women who wear the Hijab as they are practising their right and freedom of religion in this blessed country of ours.
We also would like to warn the Malaysian Insider news portal as they are defending the CASTMET construction company for their racist behaviour.
