Report: London slave victim Siti Aishah stuck to political beliefs - By Ida Lim
This particular news was brought to us by the Malay Mail. As usual our comments will be in red.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 — Siti Aishah Abdul Wahab, who was recently rescued from 30 years of alleged slavery in a Communist collective in London, could not be persuaded by her fellow Malaysians to give up her political beliefs in the 1980s, her acquaintance has said. Fariddah Ismail Cook, who had studied in the University of London, described Siti Aishah as being “very firm” in her political beliefs. “I believe at that point in her life, no one could change her mindset and her political views,” Fariddah was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times (NST).
Is it slavery if she is voluntarily joined the "political" movement?
According to Fariddah, she had heard about Siti Aishah from an Indonesian couple working at the university’s School of Oriental and African Studies. “They tried to persuade her, too. So, whenever I was on my way to lectures, I would engage in a discussion with her. Although she was gentle, passive and not at all aggressive in her approach, she was very firm in her beliefs,” she said in an interview at her house in London. Fariddah provided a glimpse of Siti Aishah’s activism in the university in the 1980s, depicting the Malaysian as wearing a black Mao jacket while giving out leaflets. “I know that she was still around in 1981 and 1982. She was always with a group of people - non-Malaysians. I would say that she was very much led and never the leader. While there were others chanting slogans, she was more in the background, distributing leaflets,” she said. Looking at Siti Aishah’s pictures in newspapers prompted Fariddah to recall an encounter on a “cold winter day” decades ago, where the former was distributing leaflets alone on the steps of the university’s SOAS. “Our eyes made contact and I was very sad, thinking how she had turned her back on everything to support this ideology in which there is no place for God,” Fariddah said. According to NST, other Malaysians in London, including the late religious scholar Abu Bakar Hamzah, had also tried to talk to Siti Aishah but failed to get her to leave the Communist collective.
Communism not only destroys the soul of a person but also their lives and their family. It is so sad to see such a person who would have a promising future but throw it all away for a sick ideology.
Yesterday, Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police confirmed Siti Aishah’s identity, even as UK’s Scotland Yard refused to divulge the identity of the 69-year-old Malaysian victim whom they said was still “traumatised” by her 30-year captivity. UK newspaper Daily Telegraph had quoted a retired teacher, Kamar Mautum, as saying that she believes the Malaysian victim is her sister named Siti Aishah. Kamar was reported by the Daily Telegraph as saying that Siti Aishah had studied at one of Malaysia’s most elite schools, eventually winning a Commonwealth scholarship to study surveying in London. Siti Aishah reportedly moved to Britain in 1968 with her then fiancé, named Omar Munir by the Daily Telegraph, but was soon involved in extremist politics, eventually giving up everything to follow a Maoist doctrine. The Malaysian victim was one of three women rescued from their two alleged captors — named as India-born Aravindan Balakrishnan and his Tanzanian-Indian wife Chandra Pattni — in a flat in Brixton, south London, on October 25. The other two victims are a 57-year-old Irish woman and a 30-year-old Briton. Police said the three women were brainwashed and had reported being beaten, but did not appear to have been sexually abused. Balakrishnan and Pattni, reportedly the leaders of an extreme Maoist collective, were arrested last Thursday for allegedly detaining the three women against their will, but have since been released on bail pending police investigations. On Tuesday night, Kamar left for London in hopes of being reunited with her long-lost sibling, with the family’s last contact with Siti Aishah said to be in 1982. NST also reported today that Siti Aishah’s ex-fiance Omar Munir expressed gratitude that she was found. His daughter Dayana Omar Munir said the 70-year-old professor was shocked by the news and is not ready to meet anyone yet.
For us in CU4M prays that Siti Aishah would come home to her family. Any religion is better than no religion. We hoped that Siti Aishah would come to her senses. Malaysian from all religion prays that she is doing well and return home.
Dear readers of CU4M, we know that some of us may differ in political or religious issues but being in a sect like Siti Aishah is truly dumbfounded.
Salvation cannot be obtain through human made ideologies. The absence of a divine presence will disrupt the natural order of the world.
Adakah Yesus telah disalibkan pada hari Jumaat?
We were informed that our Malay speaking brothers and sisters are keen in reading about our Lord Jesus Christ. So we took the liberty to find out information in Bahasa Malaysia and Indonesia so that they can understand what our Lord Jesus had been through to bring peace in this world. Hallelujah!

Saint George
Eastern Orthodox depictions of Saint George slaying a dragon often include the image of the young maiden who looks on from a distance. The standard iconographic interpretation of the imageicon is that the dragon represents both Satan (Rev. 12:9) and the monster from his life story. The young maiden is the wife of Diocletian, Alexandra. Thus the image, as interpreted through the language of Byzantine iconography, is an image of the martyrdom of the saint.
The episode of St. George and the Dragon was a legend brought back with the Crusaders and retold with the courtly appurtenances belonging to the genre of Romance. The earliest known depiction of the legend is from early eleventh-century Cappadocia (in the iconography of the Eastern Orthodox Church, George had been depicted as a soldier since at least the seventh century); the earliest known surviving narrative text is an eleventh-century Georgian text.
In the fully developed Western version, which developed as part of the Golden Legend, a dragon or crocodile makes its nest at the spring that provides water for the city of "Silene" (perhaps modern Cyrene in Libya or the city of Lydda in the Holy Land, depending on the source). Consequently, the citizens have to dislodge the dragon from its nest for a time, to collect water. To do so, each day they offer the dragon at first a sheep, and if no sheep can be found, then amaiden is the best substitute for one. The victim is chosen by drawing lots. One day, this happens to be the princess. The monarch begs for her life to be spared, but to no avail. She is offered to the dragon, but then Saint George appears on his travels. He faces the dragon, protects himself with the sign of the Cross, slays the dragon, and rescues the princess. The citizens abandon their ancestral paganism and convert to Christianity.
The dragon motif was first combined with the standardised Passio Georgii in Vincent of Beauvais' encyclopaedic Speculum Historiale and then in Jacobus de Voragine's "Golden Legend", which guaranteed its popularity in the later Middle Ages as a literary and pictorial subject.
The parallels with Perseus, Cetus and Andromeda are inescapable. In the allegorical reading, the dragon embodies a suppressed pagan cult. The story has other roots that predate Christianity. Examples such as Sabazios, the sky father, who was usually depicted riding on horseback, and Zeus's defeat of Typhonthe Titan in Greek mythology, along with examples from Germanic and Vedic traditions, have led a number of historians, such as Loomis, to suggest that George is a Christianized version of older deities in Indo-European culture, or at least a suitably Christian substitute for one of them.

Word Allah: From a Malay Christian Point of View.
Allah Is The Pagan God
Allah was originally a Pagan God
Why the sudden fuss about whether the Christian Bible should be allowed to use the word Allah for God. They have been using the word Allah in Bahasa Bibles for hundreds of years. In fact, the Jews, Christians and Pagans have been using Allah for God since long before the existence of Islam.

"Saya khuatir kebenaran menggunakan perkataan Allah ini akan menimbulkan kemarahan orang Islam, sebenarnya terjemahan perkataan god dalam bahasa Inggeris adalah tuhan bukan Allah dan Allah spesifik bagi orang Islam sahaja. Jadi kalau mereka faham, mereka akan menggunakan perkataan tuhan bukannya Allah," said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad – Utusan Malaysia (2 January 2010)NO HOLDS BARRED

Mahathir said two things. First is that the Muslims, meaning Malaysian Malays, would get angry. This is Mahathir’s way of cautioning against triggering off another ‘May 13’, something the ex-Prime Minister has said many times since the 1970s.
Why must everything be translated into a race, and now religious riot? Is he declaring that Islam is an intolerant religion? Muslims always lament about the bad publicity Islam is getting from the western media. But is not the western media just basing its assumption on the acts and statements of Muslims themselves? And have I not said many times that Muslims are Islam’s worst enemy? Muslims are giving the western media the ‘ammunition’ to attack Islam.
The second thing Mahathir said is that the word Allah belongs to the Muslims. It does not and I shall offer you the evidence of this.
Anyway, why only now do we raise this objection to the Bible using the word Allah? The Bible has been using Allah for hundreds of years, ever since they translated the Bible into Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia. In fact, we have copies of a Bahasa-translated Bible published 200 years ago that used Allah.
So it is not something new. It is something that has been happening for centuries as the photograph below shows.

I can, if you wish, go into a lengthy cheong hei article. But not today -- today I am going to make it short. Nevertheless, if you are the type who can only be convinced by a lengthy thesis supported by scores of references from scholars, then read the two links below.
And my simple argument is as follows. Muhammad’s father was named Abdullah. Abdullah means Servant of Allah -- a combination of Abdul and Allah; so it becomes Abdul-Allah or Abdullah when joined together.
Now, logically, Abdullah was born before Prophet Muhammad was born since the father has to be born before the son can be born. In fact, Abdullah died before Muhammad was born and that was why the Prophet was raised by his grandfather, Muttalib, and later, when Muttalib died eight years later, by his uncle, Abu Talib.
Read Muhammad: From Birth to Marriage
Now, what does this tell you? Muhammad received his prophet-hood and was ‘converted’ to Islam long after Abdullah, the Servant of Allah, died. But Abdullah was not a Muslim. Abdullah was a Pagan. So, if Muhammad’s ‘Pagan’ father was named the Servant of Allah, that means Allah was a Pagan and not a Muslim God, so to speak.
How can Muslims (meaning Malays in particular) claim that Allah is a Muslim God and therefore the name belongs to only the Muslims? If you were to research the history of Muhammad further you will know that Muhammad and his cousin Ali (who later went on to become the Fourth Caliph) indulged in idol-worshiping and animal sacrifice to Pagan Gods in Taif, a town in the suburbs of Makkah, before the time of the Revelation.
That means Muhammad the son of Abdullah was a Pagan, as was his father, the Servant of Allah. But he carried the name ‘Muhammad the son of the Servant of Allah’ long before the Revelation when he ‘became’ a Muslim. How do the Muslims (meaning Malays) explain this if they say that Allah belongs to the Muslims? The word ‘Allah’ existed before the word ‘Muslim’ or ‘Islam’.
And refer to the press statement by ISNA, one of the most respected Islamic organisations in the entire world.(Read ISNA’s press release here). Even ISNA endorses the Malaysian court ruling that the word Allah is not the monopoly of the Muslims. ISNA has far better credibility that any Malaysian organisation whether it be JAKIM, JIM, ABIM, PERKIM, or whatever. In fact, all the Malaysian organisations combined do not even come close to ISNA.
That is all I want to say about the ‘Allah’ word controversy.

Hailed in Penang, reviled in Johor Baru, Lithuanian artist moves on with more street murals.
His street murals have brought him fame in Penang in the past two years but last Wednesday Ernest Zacharevic became infamous when his commissioned Lego mural was whitewashed by the authorities in Johor Baru.
The 27-year-old Lithuanian artist described the incident as "not the most pleasant experience” but said it has sparked discussion on what public art was, the social understanding of art, its limits and boundaries, as well as the freedom of artistic expression, which is like the freedom of speech.
"As an artist, I will always stand for that and everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions," he told The Malaysian Insider at his Penang base in George Town yesterday.

Weekend change worries Johor traders-Via The Star.
***As usual, our comments will be marked with red.
Businesses here are worried that they will be affected if Johor is to revert its Saturday-Sunday weekend to Friday-Saturday.
Johor Indian Business Association (Jiba) president P. Sivakumar called for a proper study to be conducted before any change is made.
He said investments in the state, especially in Iskandar Malaysia, would lose out.
“It is not timely for such change in Johor, especially with rapid development and foreign investments taking place here,” he told The Star yesterday.
Johor Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries deputy president Datuk Loh Liam Hiang said many business owners were concerned over the matter.
“Johor Baru is on its way to becoming an international cosmopolitan city due to Iskandar Malaysia. Such changes to our rest days will take us backwards.
“Many countries observe Saturday and Sunday as rest days and it will be hard for us to attract foreign investors to come here (if there is a change),” he said.
Pope Francis: 'He always cooked fantastic paella'
Pope Francis makes a mean paella, starts his day before dawn and has taught Vatican chefs to make his favourite pudding, a new book claims.
Pope Francis starts his day at 4.15am, is a dab hand at making paella and once gave a baby a dummy dipped in whisky to stop it crying, a new book has revealed.
The Jesuit Pope rises before dawn, has a shower and a shave, and then starts the day with a cup of his beloved "maté" – a caffeine-rich, tea-like beverage from his native Argentina.
He loves cooking and is used to preparing meals for himself from when he was archbishop of Buenos Aires, according to a new biography by an Italian-born, Argentine journalist, Elisabetta Piqué.
"He always cooked fantastic paella for us," Angel Rossi, a Jesuit priest, told the journalist, whose book, Francis: Life and Revolution, is published this week.
The South American pontiff has managed to teach the chefs at Casa Santa Marta, the Vatican guesthouse where he chose to live in favour of the much grander Apostolic Apartments, how to prepare his favourite dessert – a sweet milk pudding called "dulce de leche".
‘I felt only love’: Disfigured man embraced by Pope Francis speaks out about the experience
The disfigured man whose meeting with Pope Francis made headlines all over the world has finally spoken out about the experience – and said the moment left him speechless.
Vinicio Riva, 53, suffers from neurofibromatosis Type 1, a rare genetic disorder which results in painful tumours on his face and body.
Speaking for the first time to the Italian magazine Panorama, Mr Riva said the moment captured by photographers in St Peter’s Square on 6 November “all lasted not more than a minute, but it seemed an eternity”, and that it was “like being in Paradise”.
Mr Riva told the magazine he had spent a lifetime living on the margins of society in Vicenza, northern Italy, where his younger sisters and late mother also suffered from the same rare disease.
In the past he has made a number of visits to Lourdes, a Catholic shrine in France which is the site of thousands of religious pilgrimages every year, until a travelling companion this year suggested he go to Rome.
Mr Riva spoke of his shock when, after meeting Pope Francis and kissing his hand, the Pontiff then pulled the 53-year-old towards him.
“What most astonished me is that he didn’t think twice on embracing me,” Mr Riva said. “I’m not contagious, but he didn’t know. He just did it; he caressed all my face, and while he was doing that, I felt only love.
“I tried to speak, to tell him something, but I couldn't: The emotion was too strong.”
Afterwards, Mr Riva turned to his aunt who accompanied him to the Vatican and said: “Here I leave my pain.”
The interview with Panorama comes as Pope Francis’ popularity has never been higher. A YouGov poll released yesterday suggested that, since the Argentinian had taken on the highest office in the Catholic Church in March this year, he has made a sustained and positive public impression.
The survey found that only 3 per cent of people thought he had done a bad job since being made Pope, compared to the 11 per cent who though he would do a bad job when he was installed.
While 36 per cent of people said they had a negative opinion of the church before Pope Francis and still do, 17 per cent said he had made them think more positively about Catholocism.

Of Karpal Singh And Dr Mahathir.
We heard that Tun Dr Mahathir was admitted into the National Heart Institute. We pray that he will recover soon. Although Tun was very critical of non-Malays in his statements and actions, we must not deny his contribution to this country. With that we pray to the Lord that he will have good health in years to come.

Into the bosom of your tender mercy, this day, every day of my life, and at the hour of my death, we commend our soul and body.
To you we entrust all our hopes and consolations, all our trials and miseries, our life and the end of our life, that all our actions may be ordered and disposed according to your will and that of your Divine Son. Amen."

Sultan tiada hak tentukan agama bukan Islam, kata pakar perundangan.
Our Comments will be marked red.
The constitution protects us, so to speak. Stop meddling in our religion.
“Kuasa pemerintah semestinya perlu berdasarkan konteks Perlembagaan Persekutuan. Sultan selaku ketua agama hanya terpakai kepada orang Islam dalam negeri itu,” katanya kepada The Malaysian Insider.
Yes, it is true. The Sultan's of the states have limited powers and religion wise, it does not effect the rights of the non-Malays/Muslims.

What is wrong with you Khalid Samad?
We appreciate your conviction is fighting for what is right for everyone in Malaysia, but this is not acceptable.
Respect everyone. Even if it is your enemy. Making paper planes in the parliament is not acceptable. Khalid Samad needs to learn some manners.
"Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath. "

Pope Francis: The Beacon Of Hope. :)
Francis (Latin: Franciscus; born Jorge Mario Bergoglio; 17 December 1936) is the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church having beenelected Bishop of Rome. He is thereby also the Sovereign of Vatican City.
Born in Buenos Aires as the son of Italian parents, Bergoglio worked briefly as a chemical technician before entering seminary. He was ordained apriest in 1969. From 1973 to 1979 he was Argentina's Provincial superior of the Society of Jesus. He became Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 1998, and a cardinal in 2001. Following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI in February 2013, on 13 March 2013 the papal conclave elected Bergoglio, who chose the papal name Francis in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first pope from the Americas, and the first from the Southern Hemisphere.
Throughout his life, both as an individual and as a religious leader, Bergoglio has been noted for his humility, his concern for the poor, and his commitment to dialogue as a way to build bridges between people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and faiths. He is known for having a simpler and less formal approach to the papacy, most notably by choosing to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse rather than the papal apartmentsof the Apostolic Palace formerly used by his predecessors. In addition, he is known for favoring simpler vestments void of ornamentation, by starting to refuse the traditional papal mozzetta cape upon his election.
Pope Francis, according to news reports summarizing the August 2013 La Civiltà Cattolica interview, claims the Church has concentrated on supervising sex, particularly abortion, contraception and homosexuality while neglecting other important teachings, notably the duty to help those who are poor and marginalized.

The meaning of nuisance:

noun \ˈnü-sən(t)s, ˈnyü-\
: a person, thing, or situation that is annoying or that causes trouble or problems
Yes we are tolerant. But what can you do if something that annoys you were repeated every single day, fives time a day.
