Special branch officer charged with murder of colleague


A special branch officer was charged today with the murder of his colleague, who was allegedly shot twice in the face before his body was found in Federal Hill in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month.

Corporal Wan Masrul Faiezie Wan Mustapha, 33, was accused of murdering T. Thivakar, 37, at Jalan Negeri Sembilan in Bukit Persekutuan between 4.11pm and 4.50pm on February 4.
No plea was recorded when the charge was read out to Corporal Wan Masrul at the Jalan Duta Magistrate Court.
Judge Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin fixed April 14 for mention.
The accused is facing the death penalty if found guilty for the offence read under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Lawyer A. Sheelan hold a watching brief for Thivakar's family.
The body was found by a police patrol unit by the side of Jalan Negeri Sembilan at Bukit Persekutuan, together with 9mm bullet casings and a Modenas Kriss motorcycle, which the police said belonged to another policeman.
It was reported that the wallet and personal belongings of the deceased were still intact. – February 14, 2014.
